Schmerz ist ein die Pflege täglich begleitendes Phänomen. In allen Versorgungsbereichen
tritt Schmerz bei Patienten auf. Pflegende müssen sich mit diesen Schmerzen, die aufgrund
der vorliegenden Erkrankung, aber auch durch medizinische wie pflegerische Interventionen
auftreten, auseinandersetzen und ihnen durch gezielte Aktionen begegnen. Sowohl in
Krankenhäusern, Einrichtungen der stationären Altenhilfe, Hospizen, wie auch im ambulanten
Setting ist ein spezifisches Schmerzmanagement in Abstimmung aller beteiligten Berufsgruppen
notwendig. Leitend dabei sind die Menschen, die einer Unterstützung in der Auseinandersetzung
und Behandlung ihrer Schmerzen bedürfen.
Pain is a phenomenon accompanying routine nursing care. Pain may occur in patients
from all fields of health-care. The patients have to cope with not only the pain arising
from the underlying illness but also that due to both medical and nursing measures
and counter it with specific actions. A specific pain management with the participation
and consent of all involved professional groups is needed not only in hospitals, nursing
homes for the elderly and hospices but also in outpatient settings. The key characters
are those persons who need support in their confrontation with and therapy for pain.
